At The Tree People we take tree care seriously.

We’ve worked hard to achieve a number of Arborist, Health & Safety and Sustainability certifications and proudly hold an accreditation as a Living Wage Employer.

Hiring an approved contractor offers peace of mind with professional, ethical, and respectful services backed by quality assurance and approved business systems. With the correct insurance and the backing of the New Zealand Arboricultural Association code of conduct, you’re protected against substandard work.

Proudly NZARB Accredited Arborists

We’re certified arborists, following MBIE best practices and meeting environmental, health, and safety standards for vegetation management and removal.

In January 2020, we became an approved contractor by the New Zealand Arboricultural Association (NZArb) Inc., one of only three in the South Island.

This is the highest stamp of approval in our industry and signifies our commitment to best practices, compliance, safety, and expertise. Our industry recognition reflects our high standards and professionalism, meeting criteria for knowledge, practical ability, client service, and business systems. Reporting on the process, the Association summarised, “It was difficult not to be extremely impressed by the applicant’s management and business ethos and of their very professional and dedicated team. We have no hesitation in recommending that the Tree People be appointed as a New Zealand Arboricultural Association Approved Contractor.”

We are proud to also hold the additional credentials:

  • New Zealand Arboricultural Association NZAA.
  • International Society of Arboriculture ISA.
  • Canterbury Economic Chamber of Commerce CECC.
  • Site Safe, Site Wise Gold Accredited.
  • Sustainable Business Network SBN.
  • Tree Care Industry Association TCIA EEA members.
  • Registered Master Arborists
  • Affiliated to TCIA / NZAA / SBN.
